Welcome

The Price Family Historical Society was formed in 2006 by founding members: Jimmie L. Price, Suzanne P. Jones, James Price and Edith P. Sloop. The Society’s mission is to identify, research, record, and preserve for future generations the Price Family history, beginning in Germany, and centering in Montgomery County, Virginia.

We are the descendants of David and Agnes Hoffman Price of Offenbach, Germany. Our immigrating ancestors were Anna Margaretha Price Harless and husband Phillip, John Michael Price, Augustine Price, Daniel Price, and John Henry Price.

This First Family of immigrants from The Rhine Palatinate arrived in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on September 5, 1738, aboard the ship Winter Galley. Those Palatines have literally thousands of descendants across the United States
The Price Family Historical Society is resolved to honor those founding pioneers, while promoting local history, knowledge and tourism in western Virginia and Montgomery County.

Our monthly meetings are held on the third Tuesday of each month at 7 p.m., unless otherwise specified. The location of the meetings is the Saint Michael Lutheran Church on Merrimac Road, off Prices Fork Road, and west of Blacksburg, Virginia. Price descendants and other interested individuals are invited to attend.
